(42,862 posts)Does this open the door for electioneering within the voting venue? At what point will the campaign volunteers be prohibited from pestering people who are trying to complete their ballot?
Define "political apparel". Are wearable sandwich boards allowed?
This is a mistake. There's a reason that (at least in our state) there is a well-defined perimeter at polling places that are clearly marked with signs that state "No Electioneering Beyond This Point".
People deserve to vote without being distracted and harassed.
My polling place is in a library, and people are instinctively quiet in there. Not a lot of loud and boisterous chatter among people in line (outside) and after entering the library, the volume of discussions and interactions drop to a whisper.
