[b"]I get excited about the possibility of drawing another cartoon and afflicting the comfortable and speaking truth to power,” Rogers said last week. “That’s what I’m hoping they’ll let me do. And if not, then I’ll have to find another way to do it.”

Best wishes on your new upcoming job

nothing seems even particularly mean, yeah they are pointed, but that's what political cartoons are supposed to be.

... of single ownership of local news outlets. The constitutional importance of a free press may fall under the weight of money. This is scary.

The Pittsburgh post-gazette has become right wing propaganda.

We must reject propaganda and promote truth seeking journalism like New Yorker, Vox, TPM.

- truth seeking journalism (WaPo, New Yorker, Vox, TPM, John Oliver, most ondividual journalists)
- profit-first infotainment (CNN, MSNBC, most tv news)
- Republican propaganda media (Fox Limbaugh WSJ etc)

I think NPR and NYT are in a branch of #1 - they're run by journalists, but they are so cowed and afraid of the right, and now so bothsideist, that I don't recommend anyone reading or listening to their POLITICS coverage (both still have great investigative reporting, but I don't recommend them as a daily outlet).

I canceled my 19-yr NYT subscription in Jan after one too many normalizing bothsidesist articles, and subscribed to the Washington Post.

I recommend the Washington Post or the Guardian as a daily paper, and I recommend podcasts - Pod Save America, Josh Marshall, Slate, Guardian, Mother Jones podcasts - for audio news.

Here's the full take

It seems the Post-Gazette is now controlled by a Trump fanatic.

I noticed the Post-Gazette started leaning to the right when Keith Burris took over as editorial director. Confirmed my suspicions when the PG endorsed creepy Saccone and running more editorial cartoons penned by other artists. Just another sign of the RW media taking control.
