It is a matter of time. He and his clan will have to defend this often...When he does defend this, it could destroy any positive reaction from the North Korean "peace trip"..

For what reason? ..... Oh the family illegally immigrated to get a better life.

(30,813 posts)It amazes me that America can wake up each morning, go through its day and sleep peacefully when there are children being imprisoned within our borders!!
It's like 9-11 happening and people just going about the rest of their day like usual.

(53,410 posts)Then nothing will stop this administration and Congress.
As the media turns more and more to this story the worse it will be on Trump.
But, and its a big but, if this is allowed then the next step is a fascist government, because there wont be anyone they cant go after to throw in camps.

If the American people tolerate this, they'll be rightfully shunned the world over.

Ravina Shamdasani , a spokeswoman for the U.N. high commissioner for refugees, scolded the United States over the hundreds of children removed from parents who were jailed for entering the country illegally. She said that border control appears to take precedence over child protection and care in the U.S.
"The use of immigration detention and family separation as a deterrent runs counter to human rights standards and principles," Shamdasani said during a briefing in Geneva. "The child's best interest should always come first."

The administration angrily rejected what it called an ignorant attack by the United Nations human rights office and accused the global organization of hypocrisy.

"Our government has the discretion in our laws to ensure that young children are not separated from their parents and exposed to irreparable harm and trauma," he said. "Families are the foundational element of our society and they must be able to stay together.
"Separating babies from their mothers is not the answer and is immoral," Blansfield said.

Canonical penalties are there in place to heal, he said, according to Religion News Service. And therefore, for the salvation of these peoples souls, maybe its time for us to look at canonical penalties.
A canonical penalty is defined as a punishment imposed by the church, which could include purgatory or excommunication. Catholic church laws are outlined in the Code of Canon law, a system of laws for regulation within the church.
