General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMy DU friends - take a moment this weekend to be thankful that you are who you are...
That you share a world view of kindness, humility, humanity - that you see the world as an organism that needs to be nurtured collectively and completely. That you have courage, curiosity. That we all here are a hugely diverse family of quite like minded individuals who celebrate and recognize and value the diversity. That we all here feel some part to make the world a better place - to imagine, to create. That you see, value and recognize the natural world, and understand all that are in it need to be cared for and preserved for future generations to enjoy
In other words, be thankful that you - and all of us - don't have minds that inhabit the dark, frightening, empty world of greed, hatred, and fear that trump and his disciples inhabit. That the only thing you believe in is what you are told to believe - that your purpose on this earth is simply to use and destroy, with no mind of who or what is to come.
That much truly, really, suck big time.

(24,317 posts)And be thankful for the process that made you who you are. The people who have influenced you, be they family educators or just friends. And be thankful you had the good sense to not be influenced by those who would have made you be something less than are.

(21,656 posts)With very rare exceptions, I've never seen anything but good-faith discussion on DU.
Not so with our Republican friends. Everything's either a Limpball talking point, stupid chest-thumping (usually in support of some criminal war), or bigotry.
No facts, and certainly no sensibility - or interest - over this very complicated world of ours.

(6,556 posts)In your post you have watered parched souls that have been beaten down by the struggle that exists every hour of every day. tRump saps one's energy with the chaos he creates. Your reminder helps me center on the really important stuff that fuels us to positive actions. Bless you for sharing this post.

(6,231 posts)I'm right there with you. I think thankfully of how I view things & avoid negative energy. I'm so glad there are others with forward thinking views. When all we are going to do is die anyway, why not make this a better place for all? The young give me hope that we could be at the begging of a new progressive era. It's been a long time coming.
