They speaks many different languages. Some are too young to even know their own names, let alone their parents, others probably only know "Mama and Papa". How will they ever reunited those kids with their families?

Siblings might have different surnames, and maybe they only know the family nicknames, not the full legal names. Family relationships might be with older siblings, step parents, aunties and uncles, cousins or grandparents, are they given any custody rights to be reunited at some point?

What kind of a software program are the using to make sure all these people are identifiable and stay connected? One story was that little kids were handed small slips of paper with names and locations of their parents, but some of those names were already misidentified.

This is just a chaotic mess and no one has thought about the disastrous consequences.

You know, the ones run by those churches who sponsor foreign kids for supposed educational reasons and end up treating those kids like household servants.
You only see the boys because they're too old to be easily malleable and are already assumed to be criminals by those very same religious foster organizations.

If I were going to trek 600 miles in dangerous circumstances, those are the two kinds of family members I'd want to leave behind. Let them get transferred up later, once the family's established. If there are 800 teenage boys, I expect far fewer girls and far, far fewer infants.

That's what's implied by all the kids we saw trekking north a few years ago. Mommy or daddy came to the US, a few years later the smaller family members left behind opted for reunification.

It's also what we saw a few years ago with the Syrian refugees. Not so many actual "families" with young kids. Lots of young me on their own. Lots of families with teenagers, esp. boys, in the first wave or two. But when a headcount was done, not so many babies. But you have to pay close attention, because the anecdotal information focuses on the tear-jerker stories. In fact, when the pictures of all the young men were proffered as representative, media sources went out of the way to say it wasn't "only" men.

Do you realize that if your family is not wealthy or connected in Honduras and El Salvador and you are a young man -or woman, you are expected to join a street gang or die. And your family members will be on the hit list too.
That is what they are coming up here. That is why you are seeing families coming up. Their young men have already made their way up.
