I've called my senators

McCaskill and Blunt, and have left messages. I've stated my name, my zip code, my phone number and I am a constituent. I've pleaded with Blunt's office about how unChristian the removal of children from parents is and that I will pray for him to do as Christ would do in this situation.
My message to McCaskill was about being a long time Democrat whose child is volunteering with her campaign. Ive stated that this is disappointing behavior from her and I'm sure she'll rectify the situation on Monday, especially since this is an election year and she does have a primary opponent. I stated on both messages that I will follow up daily until each chooses to sign on and protect the children living in tent cities and big box stores, away from their parents.

I tore into chuck grassley. I mean I ripped him a new one. I said that since he has said nothing and done nothing about this situation, he's just as culpable as his Lord and master trump. I have already been told to stop calling his local office here in Davenport, IA. Chuckles has some stroke and may want my ass gone. Screw him. Screw all of them.

5. Hartzlers office told me to quit calling a few years ago.

I still have not stopped ;just moved to a different office.

I like the free faxes, personally. I can write and send them at night, and they'll be waiting for staff to pick them up in the morning.

But the most effective is either an office visit or a phone call. They have the best response to either.
And always be unfailingly polite to the intern on the other end. They will remember those who are polite, know the name or number of the bill, etc.

7. Tomorrow add the DOJ

And your state lawmakers. Get them on record about their stand. If they don't have one give a quick update on it(30 seconds), appeal to the call taker with comments about the poor babies, etc and then let them know you will follow up tomorrow and every day after until they have a comment on record.

Hold feet to the fire. I want to know how many of my state assembly and senate side with this. They need to know this is an election year for some.

8. More effective than you think.

Blunt claims to be a religious man. Throw it back in his face. Take religion and use it as a weapon. Tell them you'll call every day and will take this message back to your local prayer group/Sunday School/Daughter of Ruth/UMM etc. (I am Methodist so change to whatever.)

Religious groups are coming out against this. Remind him that not all are evangelical ass kissers. If done with finesse it can be powerful.

(BTW - the only prayer I've ever had personally for Blunt is that he loses his reelection bids. He deserves nothing and his actions are proof.)
