If the Keep Families Together Act passes, what is next step?

That is to say, what should the policy be with respect to those who are fleeing violence in Honduras and other countries?

Assuming we are able to end the horrific practice of separating children from their parents, which should be (and is) the top priority right now for Democrats (and anyone else with a heart) - what then should US policy be with respect to them?

Instead kept in a reasonable family friendly facility or given temporary stay while waiting for adjudication on their asylum petition. That's how it used to work.

What is next? There has been a sharp increase in asylum seekers from the Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

occurring since time began. The neighboring countries as a rule set up some kind of shelter for the evacuees and arranged for help from other countries to provide food and medicines and another necessities for them.

It's totally wrong for the richest country in the world not to be able to provide the same for people fleeing to the safety of this country.
