One's station in life determines so much it seems.

There was a thread from last night where a retail associate rolled his eyes when talking to a customer - and the posts here were calling for his firing. A top tennis player (several it seems) can demean officials and have it ignored/accepted/forgiven.

Am I off-base here? or is something askew?
