Reid is not running for President. Romney is the one asking you to trust him with the nuclear arsenal, but he won't release his freakin' tax returns???

(13,069 posts)Reid took the idea right out of Romney's playbook. He used the same strategy when running about 10 yrs ago.
Our media is so corrupt. The angle of the media reporting is so biased in favor of Romney.

(2,657 posts)their base's first choice and a lot of people are going to stay home. This stuff comes out before the convention and they have to go to Plan B. They might as well kiss the next 3 elections good-bye which is no skin off my noise but the RNC is scared shitless of Reid.
He's got Rmoney back to the the wall.

This country is totally fucked and I think we need to see more balls on the table to even begin to fix it.

(24,412 posts)however, every second, minute, hour, day, week, and month they spend going after Reid on this (who BTW is not up for re-election for another 4 years), that's time they're not spending attacking or lying on President Obama. Romney could easily answer Reid's comments if they want to but they apparently believe that the price of releasing the records outweighs the damage rampant speculation is causing him right now. I have a feeling too that Reid knows exactly what he is doing here. With as much on the line as there is, I doubt that Reid would potentially set the Obama campaign up for failure over something like this.

(26,260 posts)I think that if we keep pushing Willard, and I mean daily, he's going to snap. I'm beginning to suspect that's why his handlers avoid letting the press anywhere near him, when ever possible. He really isn't very good at answering questions about his actions, since he's probably gone most of his life believing he doesn't have to.

(15,805 posts)Reid has adroitly maneuvered Romney into an escape-proof trap. Every day he spends on defense is another gift to Obama' campaign to get his message out in front while Romney is mired down in the self defeating "I am not a crook" mode.
Priceless!

(12,151 posts)Reid's obviously executing a deliberate ploy here. But the business of sweeping charges from unnamed sources is not a pretty one.
If the idea is to keep the tax return pressure on -- which it obviously is -- Reid and the Democrats could have still taken a higher road about it. It would have been easy enough to focus on the fact that the returns obviously show something Romney is afraid of -- an obscenely low rate, more offshore monkey business, IRS amnesty for Swiss accounts.
But they went with a very specific, very strong accusation from an anonymous source.
It's also a big rhetorical gamble just in terms of the way it could play out. If Romney releases his returns and paid a teeny weeny bit of taxes, Republicans get to scream "Liar!" and deflect.
The only way this specific, absolute accusation of "paying no income tax" doesn't end up just stirring more partisan bile is if it's absolutely, 100% true. If we get the returns, and they show anything different, Reid and the Democrats will have left a very bad taste in the mouths of independents or undecided voters.

(71,611 posts)... his tax accountants are working furiously to file amended returns. If, and only if, they can concoct 'acceptable' amended returns (3 years?), the Rmoney can (reluctantly) publish them. It seems beyond obvious that the damage to Rmoney of releasing his tax returns, as filed, is even more severe than the conjecture to this point.
I'd be VERY interested in seeing any and all of his foreign tax filings for the past 10 years as well.

Can't answer for J. Stew though....
As for where the poster is, He/she could just be scanning the posts looking for opinions.
or maybe the poster isn't here for the " debate club " experience.
Obviously , the word " everyone " ( In the post) isn't meant to include you or I.
But it seems that some here just wanna pick apart each post instead of trying to get at the point of it.
I've asked before about what the purpose of what we do here is.
Are we here to post our opinions or just call each other out over a single word in our post? We are all smart enough to figure out these posts. And you can always ask for clarification, if it seems unclear.
You shouldn't have to consult a lawyer before you post here....
This seems to be a cut -and-dried opinion posted in the form of a question.

Harry "I have found my balls" Reid - is right to go after Romney and Romney is so scared of being found out that he hasn't paid "income" taxes or whatever he is hiding coming to light he has set his attack minions on Harry.
So go Harry go!
