What has Harry Reid said?
He said that he had a conversation with a Bain investor who said the there were ten years when Romney paid no federal taxes, and Reid said that he believes his source to be knowledgeable and reliable.
I do not think that Harry Reid ever said Romney didn't pay taxes, or that he (Reid) had any direct knowledge of Romney's tax returns.
Journalism is such a fucking joke... given that we have at least two prominent people calling Reid a liar, did anyone pin down exactly what he is alleged to be lying about?
Did he have no such conversation?
What, specifically, is the lie? Did Reid ever actually say Romney had not paid taxes? (I don't know, but I am guessing not.)
I will grant that "some say" and "I've heard" are common forms of political deception but in contemporary practice such insinuations are seldom described as lies.
