The kirpan has both a physical function, as a defensive weapon, as well as a symbolic function. Physically it is an instrument of "ahimsa" or non-violence. The principle of ahimsa is to actively prevent violence; the kirpan is a tool to be used to prevent violence from being done to a defenseless person when all other means to do so have failed. Symbolically, the kirpan represents the power of truth to cut through untruth. It is the cutting edge of the enlightened mind.

It didn't help after Aurora.

Just don't want the whole cycle to start again.

And I support the 2nd Amendment. I just think that somewhere between a pea shooter and a thermonuclear bomb that there is a line. Apparently the NRA disagrees.

Pshaw! Whatta ya gonna do?

8. When the NRA started their fear campaign of Obama taking the guns away, I turned against them and 2A

Those that support such fear mongering are nothing but tools for the Right/Hate wing of politics. Those that come here (of late) telling me I have no right to question them about 2A are not friends of the Democratic party. They are the friends of the death machine fed by the Republican party. And the gun manufacturers.

Those who put guns in their closets instead of food on the table are dangerous to society.
