ABR: Anybody But Romney

I think we're going to see this play out in Iowa and other states, especially after NH. Most republicans don't support Romney. They know who he is and they (rightly) don't like him. This will come into play very visibly in Iowa. If a candidate has less than 15% in the first caucus, caucusers can recausus with another candidate. There's going to be plenty of unviable Perry, Bachmann, and Gingrich supporters out there. Where do you think these people are going? I don't think it will be Romney.

And as the field thins in the states to come, voters will be looking for the anti-Romney to support. It will become clear who this person is in the coming weeks. That is very dangerous for Romney.

I think a lot of rank and file Republicans see him as a means to an end. But the conservatives are the loudest and will fight like crazy to deprive him of the nomination.

I think it had Santorum as the most likely 2nd choice. Paul was at or near the bottom of the list and Romney was somewhere in the middle.

I don't remember the details, I am overloading on cable news right now

So is the old white guy. Romney-boated. More like Willard-dinghied.

Bachmann was martyred.

Teh gays bore false witness against Santorum.

Well, Romney did run when a journalist asked about driving with his pet strapped to the roof.

5. Romney's attempt to run out the clock just may end up failing at the last minute.

Here's an interesting scenario:

Bachmann supporters caucus with Bachmann on the first round.

Bachmann then makes some kind of deal with Romney.

Her supporters rebel against the deal and her, repudiating her, hating her, and going with Santorum.

Now, if OWS gets really organized next year, Romney actually becomes the funnest candidate ever. He's the living, breathing epitome of a one percenter and if we can get the classes to see that, he will be pilloried (hypothetically).

Honestly, it doesn't matter who wins their Primary, Obama is getting another 4 years. That's a given, so I want Romney to win because then we have a face to put to the class war.

He can be this century's Marie Antoinette with magic underwear (no, I am not advocating any violence).
