A Sikh worshipper being murdered by a lunatic is as tragic a loss as an undergraduate student at Virginia Tech, a movie goer in Aurora, a soldier at Fort Hood, an African American teenager in Sanford, and on and on.

I just so happen to own a copy I think that story turned me into a lover of dystopias. I have many of Kornbluth's novels (under various pseudonyms) and all his short stories.

I don't believe in organized conspiracies, but the way our society is structured, it's useful to that structure to keep the majority of us selling our lives for miserable wages to service that structure while receiving little benefit from it and distracted from that obvious thing by stirring up resentment against other people who are somewhat different in insignificant ways (perhaps that's not the best word; these differences are important to the individual and help shape who we all are - but don't "pick my pocket nor break my leg&quot . All of us need food, shelter, medicine when we're sick and time to think; we all have much more in common than we are different.
