At least, in Franklin County.
This must be why Avenatti's saying it was a set-up.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was performing at Sirens, a strip club in Columbus, when some of the club's patrons touched her in a "non-sexual" way, Avenatti told The Associated Press.
An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act, passed in 2007, prohibits anyone who is not a family member from touching a nude or semi-nude dancer.
According to an article published last year in The Columbus Dispatch, the law, which also restricts the hours of operation for strip clubs and adult book stores, is rarely enforced.
The article quoted the Franklin County Sheriff's office as saying in the decade since the law was enacted, it had never had "any complaints or reasons to apply" it.
"We have gone back as far as we have records for, and nothing has been found," a spokesman for the sheriff's office, Marc Gofstein, told the Dispatch.

(2,187 posts)Are we sure about this? Are they? Why would Stormy be getting arrested for someone else's actions? This is cray-cray. The guy what-done-it is the person who should've been arrested. I wonder if he was even kicked out or ticketed or anything at all.

What he doesn't realize is that this is a PR disaster that will only bring attention back to a story that had quieted down.
This is grist for Avenatti's mill and he's already grinding away with it. Some fascist-enabling pig in Ohio thought he'd do his Leader a solid and it turns out he only helped efforts to bring him down.

I really cannot comprehend why she would be arrested for that instead of the person who touched her. Where is my Country? I am so fed up with everything, I can only take small doses of it at this point anymore because its one outrage after another. At least coming here I get to see and understand that there are still some sane people in the world.

(17,460 posts)the man is thrown out by the club bouncer. I would assume that the "toucher" would face prosecution if the club or woman were inclined to press charges, but I've never heard of that happening.
I would assume that laws such as these were created to protect the women from wandering hands of people who lose their inhibitions from drinking or otherwise becoming over-stimulated.
Her arrest is total bullshit, and most likely politically motivated.

(9,527 posts)But in a probable cause affidavit obtained by CNN affiliate WSYX, detectives who were at the Sirens Gentlemen's Club said they observed Daniels remove her top and force patrons' faces into her chest.
"The officers also observed Ms. Clifford fondling the breasts of female patrons," Franklin County Municipal Court records show.
When officers witnessed those activities, three detectives approached the stage. Daniels allegedly made her way toward two detectives, leaned over and grabbed their faces. She shoved each of their faces between her breasts, court documents said.
She fondled a third officer's buttocks and breasts, according to the documents. Daniels was one of three people arrested at the club, but it's unclear who the other two were.
Those touches don't sound particularly non-sexual to me. But at least from the affidavit, she was the one initiating the touching.

(17,460 posts)But female strippers pull men's faces into their breasts all the time. It is nothing unusual. I'll tell you what though...most men know that you better keep your hands away from her if they do that.

(17,460 posts)My buddy and I went out drinking one night and we ended up in a high class strip club. It was one of those "no bullshit" kind of places.
We were not sitting at the stage, but rather, we were sitting at a little round table, having some drinks and watching the strippers.
They had a stripper on the stage, and several who would go around to tables asking if you wanted a lap dance or if you wanted to buy them a drink. This is all standard stuff in the clubs around here, and the protocol is to be friendly and treat the women with respect. Also, it is customary to either buy them an over-priced drink, or to slip them some cash. After all, this is their job.
So if I remember correctly, both me and my friend gave the woman some money, and then we just chatted with her. She was very personable and we were having a lot of laughs.
Next thing I know, my friend starts caressing her forearms. He was drunk, but that is no excuse. If you go into a club, you better know the rules.
I started screaming at him...WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING???? DON'T TOUCH HER!!!! Just then, a bouncer arrived and grabbed him. I convinced the bouncer that I would keep an eye on him, and he honestly didn't know you can't do that.
The bouncer let us stay.

I have great appreciation of the female form but strip clubs just make me feel like a creep.

(17,460 posts)No matter how classy the club is, they still exploit women. However, I feel that if someone (man or woman) chooses to be a stripper because of the money, then they are entitled to that choice.

(4,602 posts)The women have a resource. They sell it.
In principle thats fine. Im sure some clubs exploit women, as any business is capable of exploiting their employees.
LuckyCharms
(17,460 posts)There is nothing wrong with stripping.
Maybe I should have said that the clubs are exploitive in general, not to women in particular.
These businesses play upon weaknesses to make money, and to an extent, so do the male and female strippers.
What I am talking about here is the stuffing of the rent money into g-strings, the water-downed drinks bought for the strippers, the dangers that strippers are sometimes subject to.

(42,014 posts)That being said, I was a stripper for a very short period of time and I had to get wasted to do it. To this day, Im in no way body shyit was the feeling of being an animal on display I couldnt handle. That and the aura of restrained violence. Those bouncers are there for a reason, the no touch rules are there for a reason and trust me, they earn their pay, the bouncers and the strippers.
Successful strippers get past that feeling and attempt to own their bodies, their performances, the eyes upon them, they are able to humanize themselves by using their sexuality as a power. There is often a little give and take with the audience.
Stormy is a high end, high demand performer, and very talented by all accounts. I suspect there is more to the story that her boobs in a face. Im sure this was a set up designed to demean and embarrass her.

Sorry! Sorry about that! Thats my bad, DU.
Ive just been watching four seconds of Faux News lately, and it was my understanding that the death penalty was mandatory for a trespassing charge (literally the offense that illegal immigrants have committed, even if many of the child separations have been before any crime has been committed).
