You don't need my Canuck ass to tell you that if Obama gets anything less than 320 electoral votes, the Rs-Holes are gonna sue in every fucking state he won by less than 10,000 ballots. Maybe 20,000. Maybe 50,000.
I hope you're ready! Hell, this agnostic is willing to pray that you're ready, 'cause we do NOT need a Harper-on-Steroids in control of your nuclear weapons!

A lot of youngsters up here don't remember that incident either.

could fill me in on all that was important in her Canadian life and it's politics.
I was throughly impressed and went back to the U.S. with a completely different view of
how we share this continent.

(44,124 posts)That horrible Obama, so selfish that he won't step aside and give the presidency to Romney.
Is that what MG meant???

(34,589 posts)But making stuff up and personal attacks are what the Third Way has been reduced to, since facts have become unhelpful to their cause.

(13,669 posts)to criticize the President though Manny- Even on OP's like this one which was in support of Pres. Obama- from Canada.
And that reality is bound to come back and bite you. As for personal attacks, your reply is kind of ironic.
You are being judged by your actions. If that is a personal attack, then maybe you might want to reflect on your own behaviour.

(34,589 posts)working Americans as he fights for elections. He did a phenomenal job in 2007-2008, and at least a good of a job now.
We're in a depression, and we could use some proven policies to fix it, but instead we get pea-eating, "free" trade agreements and Grand Bargains that are sure to fuck things up even worse as they have every other time they've been tried.
That's the reality, as far as I see it.

(13,669 posts)you make your disappointment with the President known very well and often.
Do you think you are alone in the frustration that so many policies that ALL of us - the President included want to get into place just aren't possible?
We are fighting an opposition that will use any means possible to achieve their objective. They are devious and destructive. Your constant harping on what has not been achieved doesn't help anything. You aren't encouraging or 'building' up our side. You are, instead working against all of us. imo. I've come to expect a negative perspective from your posts, which I find sad, because you are obviously a smart, articulate and passionate person. I only wish you could put some of your energy to constructive and supportive statements which help bind us together towards our common goal.
Not asking for a rah-rah "isn't it all just wonderful" sort of thing, just one that isn't so predictably negative and accusing.
We are up against something pretty terrible. We stand to loose a LOT more than an election in the fall. We need to work together and work out our frustrations and disappointments better than we have been able to thus far. The republicans have us beat in the 'unity' division- which isn't always a good thing in the long run, but it is critical sometimes. Now is one of them.

(34,589 posts)"Fabricated "secret plans", speculation as fact, willful "misinterpretation" of what Democrats say, misrepresentation of Democratic polices through selective quotation, character assasination etc etc. "
Please provide an example or two, let's see what we're dealing with.
As to my endgame... for 30 years we've done the "oh no, if we hold Democrats accountable for going hard right then we'll get Republicans instead" thing. And here we are. How's that working out? We need to hold Democrats accountable for fucking with working Americans. Or things will get worse. Like they have for 30 years.
I simply want Democrats to act like Democrats, and to fight for what's right. Maybe that's "ratfucking" in your world, but I call it standing for our party's ideals. I'll take it over "middleclassfucking" any day.
Thanks.

(62 posts)Up here, we recognize two things:
1: Obama inherited a shitstorm of W's "results." Zeus Himself couldn't have dug out of that hole in four years.
2. The Republican Party has been very clear (see: Mitch McConnell) in its determination to thwart the efforts of Oh My God he's a Black Guy! to make ANY improvements to your country's situation.
Cut your President some slack already!

(34,589 posts)Let's start with a simple question: What was the purpose of the three "free" trade bills that Bush negotiated, Congress rejected, then Obama forced through Congress?

(15,445 posts)the piss-poor refing in that women's Canada-US soccer match at the Olympics last night.
What a travesty! No way did the Canucks deserve the holding and hand penalties. The US have a ridiculous ref to thank for their win.
I hope the Japs knock the snot out of them!
P.S. And I fear you're right about the need to lawyer up--this election may be the nastiest in modern history.

(18,998 posts)But I am not as worried about the legal aspect of it as I am about the nut job factor with lots of guns and ammo...when you have someone like Limbaugh telling his delude audience that basically if the dems win it will be the end of the world and the beguiling of a Fascist Marxist Communist dictatorship the is out to kill them, just what do you think a nut would do?
And when you have an entertainer saying that if Obama is re elected he will ether be dead or in jail the message is really obvious.
Yep Rmoney would be Harper-on-Steroids and with a mandate by the media to create war and other insanities on the world...and you will suffer with us.
Radiation has a very impolite habit of not respecting national borders, and I'm not kidding when I say that Mittbot shall be even more easily-led into war than Dubya!
