Just spotted some campaigners at a corner in my neighborhood, a bunch of signs lying on the ground.
And I made a promise to myself. From now on, when a campaigner comes to my door, I will say:
Are you a DEMOCRAT or Party of TRUMP?
If they're a Democrat, I'll listen to what they have to say and maybe get out my checkbook.
If they say the race is nonpartisan, I'll say: Fine. Still want to know. Are you a Democrat or with the Party of Trump? And then, for Democrats, I'll accept a written handout, so I can follow up to see the candidate is really a Democrat (just happening to be running for a non-partisan position.)
If they say, "I'm a Republican, but . . . "
I'll say, "Have a nice day!" (The northern version of "Bless your heart" and shut the door.

(108,995 posts)Just kidding. My dogs would love anybody. They're not very discerning, sadly.
