http://thinkprogress.org/alyssa/2012/08/07/651671/koch-brothers-the-campaign/In The Campaign, out this weekend, Will Ferrell plays an incumbent Congressman whos running whats supposed to be an uncontested race, when a pair of wealth brothers by the name of Motch put up a genial dummy, played by Zach Galifianakis, to run against him. Unsurprisingly, Galifianakis confirmed that the brothers, played in the movie by Dan Aykroyd and John Lithgow, are meant to be a stand-in for the real-life industrialists and right-wing political funders Charles and David Koch, and mentioned in a recent interview that he found the pair creepy.
Now I have to see this movie. Love Zach & Will. What a great team they are!!

(14,180 posts)mike circuit here in LA. (He was -- and presumably still is -- a brilliant stand-up comedian doing so-called 'alternative stand-up comedy' and I was an aspiring singer-songwriter.)
He's a great guy in person, very unassuming and not full of himself (and very supportive of his fellow musicians on the open mike circuit). I saw him last about 10 years ago at a small coffee house in Santa Monica where he was on his way to audition for SNL. Gave him a copy of my CD to pass along to the SNL producers which he very graciously agreed to do.
