The US nor does Russia turn over diplomats that are caught as spies or commiting crimes you persona non grata kicked out of the country see the Raymond James incident or countless other examples. Allowing Russia to "interrogate him" would be unprecedented. Senate voted 98-0. No doubt Putin brought it up in that private meeting we know nothing about McFaul was on TV speaking out against it. If he doesn't do it it will be because of the outrage.

Sticking it to Obama was his motive that night in Moscow which is why he specifically wanted the room Obama's slept in. You said he doesn't have any political or personal reasons he wants a second summit! Praised Russia art the first one.
