Whoever Harry's source is they can see Harry is taking a beating for protecting them. What are the chances of this source coming forward? I also heard CNN's Dana Bash confirm Harry's source. So, does that mean she knows who his source is? If she knows, who else knows and what are the chances of the sources name being leaked?
My big fear is Romney will announce his VP,then the conventions, etc. People will lose interest in the story of his Tax returns.

(26,219 posts)That would divert the press shiny objects to tear into some guy's high school records from 40 years ago just to have something to say.
Right now, the focus is on What Is He Hiding. Romney invited the speculation, and continues to mind bogglingly put it back into the news cycle (like he did this morning), so lets oblige him.

(22,308 posts)The longer the (R)s claim it is a lie and that the source does not exist the worse they will look when he/she does come forward.
You want to do it late because the slime machine will be in full gear and focused on whoever it is.

(16,113 posts)I suspect there's something very bad for his PR in there, but I don't believe it's that he paid no taxes for 10 years.
I think it's also possible that you won't see anything bad in Mittens returns, and that the reason he doesn't want to release them is because it will enable people to start checking up on his numbers and realize he left out a bunch of stuff. Legally paying no taxes isn't good for PR, but getting caught lying on your returns to save millions is much, much worse PR.

(73 posts)How come every time a Dem goes against a Re-Thug and they come out with the same old Im the victim line we bite,Hook line a sinker. Who gives a damn what the Re-thugs are saying sense when is what they say or do ever a benefit to the left ,and this reasoning that somehow Reid is taking a beating is the exact reasoning why we lost the House and damn near lost the senate ,It pisses me off that not every Dem in America isn't screaming full support for Reid, especially when we know why Romney hood hasn't released his returns we should not forget 2010 when we didn't back the President and Allowed the Re-thugs to guide the debate ,we are already at a dis-advantage Murdoch,General Electric, the media is bought and paid for we cannot wait for them to message for us this about door to door word of mouth if that doesn't happen Barrack Obama our President is the lone Voice Thank you Harry Reid I support you 110%!

(8,694 posts)"In April 2008, a colleague at his old law firm, O'Melveny & Myers, asked Frank if he wanted to work on a sensitive matter: helping John McCain find a running mate. The firm's then chairman, A. B. Culvahouse Jr., had been tasked with the job and needed assistance. Along with a team of about thirty other lawyers, Frank spent the next five months poring over the private lives, voting records, and tax returns of Joe Lieberman and Sarah Palin, among others. He was now a veep vetterone of a handful of dirt-diggers and interrogators who, every four years, help fill out the bottom half of presidential tickets."
