(12,041 posts)I seriously think Romney is desperate enough that he would make a choice completely designed for media attention with no thought paid to the qualifications of the candidate at all. I think he may just outdumb the Palin pick and go for someone like Chuck Norris who would be certain to get huge amounts of media coverage despite the fact, or perhaps because of the fact that he is an idiot. Romney needs someone who will get the attention off his tax returns, that won't happen with a bland candidate like Portman or Pawlenty. If he nominated Chuck Norris however it would get around the clock media coverage, it would be the worst Presidential ticket in the history of this nation but it would get a number of idiots out to vote nonetheless. Most of the time they say a Presidential nominee needs to choose someone who won't upstage him, most of the time however they choose a candidate that is as universally unpopular as Mitt Romney. In this case I think the Republicans need to choose a candidate that will completely upstage Mitt because Mitt is so damaged that they need to get the cameras off him and hope people will vote for their idiot VP candidate.

(12,041 posts)He is desperate to get the focus off of his tax returns so he will make the decision as soon as he possibly can, he would have announced it today if he was ready to. It takes a lot of preparation done in secret behind the scenes between the time a candidate is selected and the time he makes an announcement, he almost certainly has a candidate selected but there is a huge amount of work that goes into introducing a VP candidate and who knows how far along they are in their preparations.
