Romney: The “sheik temple” and the “sheik people.”

Mitt Romney mistakenly confused the words “Sikh” and “sheik” at a fundraiser here Tuesday night when he offered his condolences to the victims of last weekend’s shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee correctly spoke of the Sikh religion earlier in the day when he observed a moment of silence at a campaign event in Illinois. But at the Iowa fundraiser, he instead talked about the “sheik temple” and the “sheik people.” Sheik is an Arabic honorific, whereas Sikh is a religion with roots in South Asia.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/romney-confuses-sikh-with-sheik/2012/08/07/10beaba6-e0fc-11e1-a19c-fcfa365396c8_story.html

The Moron Religion and the Moron Temple in Utah....opps, sorry about that.

WIKIPEDIA - Following her venture into television, Temple became active in the Republican Party in California, where, in 1967, she ran unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in a special election to fill a vacant seat. She ran as a conservative and lost to liberal Republican Pete McCloskey, a staunch opponent of the Vietnam War.

A Sikh (/siːk/ or /sɪk/; Punjabi: ਸਿੱਖ, sikkh [sɪkkʰ]) is a follower of Sikhism, a religion that originated in the 15th century in the Punjab region of South Asia. The term "Sikh" has its origin in Sanskrit term शिष्य (śiṣya), meaning disciple, student, or शिक्ष (śikṣa) ("instruction&quot .[24][25] A Sikh is a disciple/subject of the Guru.

that he is not a reader. he has heard both words but does not recognize the different pronunciations because he has not seen the words spelled.
if he had seen them spelled he would not have difficulty enunciating them correctly.

one would think that as a member of a minority religion. romney would have shown the respect and interest in the sikh religion to have gotten the name right.

That made me ask the question, how does Romney get his information? And then I realized that he's so rich that he's probably got a guy for that if he doesn't like to read.

Now I wonder if he's more like George Bush than I thought he was, and takes in is information from a cloud of insiders who tell him mostly what he wants to hear.

But he's too gifted a liar not to have studied others in detail. So I'm going to guess that he studies the things that fall within the realm of the profitable, and little else.

He is neck deep in lies and the phoniness and he is worn out by this campaign. He has even backed off the 'Just for Men' as we can see by the additional gray showing after his european charm tour.

If he has to comment on something like the temple shooting he knows he has to fake being concerned but he isn't. He didn't bother to learn the name of the religion involved because he doesn't really care.

We had an election full of them up here and it made a difference. The party the polls swore up and down were going to form the next government never even came close and the opposition party that didn't put their foot in it gained seats.

Hopefully after a diet of Bushisms and now Romneyisms people will understand "not fit to govern".

Cyrus Dallin sculpted the first angel which was identified as Moroni.[citation needed] This angel was placed on the Salt Lake Temple during the capstone ceremony on April 6, 1892, one year to the day before the temple was dedicated. Dallin's design is a dignified, neoclassical angel in robe and cap, standing upright with a trumpet in hand. It stands 3.8 meters high, was molded in hammered copper from the plaster original, and covered with 22-karat gold leaf.
