Romney's Principle Problem
Romney seems so eager to accept the role of victim in this torturous tax-return affair.
Rather than compromise his devotion to 'privacy', he is willing to be taken apart, piece by piece, severely diminishing the chances for a positive return on investment for his campaign contributors.
Strange that a hard-bitten, bottom-line businessman like Mitt would choose political martyrdom in order to make a stand on principle.
Maybe there is another principle for him - and us - to consider.
If he really thinks that the Obama administration is a disaster for this country, if he believes that Obama is responsible for a failing economy, reckless spending and welfare give-aways, if he sincerely believes that a Romney administration would create millions of jobs to the benefit of American workers and their families then why is he putting all that promise on the chopping block for the sake of a questionable appeal to a matter of personal comfort?
Mitt's priorities seem to have led him to the conclusion that it is better that Americans continue to suffer an incompetent administration than it is for him to be 'uncomfortable' releasing his tax returns and thus possibly saving his candidacy.
A lot of ordinary Americans have sacrificed a lot more for this country than a personal qualm about financial disclosure.
Romney, a man devoted to his own principles, is not one of them.
