Romney moves to embrace ‘Romneycare’

First it was his spokesperson and now it's the Mittens himself

¬snip¬

Twice today, Mitt Romney’s campaign has cited the health-care law he signed as Massachusetts governor — seeking credit for something it took pains to explain away during the Republican primary race.

Similarly, at an event in Iowa today, Romney seemed to suggest his bill qualifies him to tackle reforming Obama’s bill: “And I have some experience doing that, as you know,” he said, according to a tweet by Reuters’ Sam Youngman.

“OMG. This might just be the moment Mitt Romney lost the election. Wow,” tweeted RedState.com editor Erick Erickson. He added on his blog that this might be the moment of Romney’s “Read My Lips” betrayal of his right-wing supporters.

Added another Republican strategist, granted anonymity to speak candidly: “I don’t get it, but I have never understood their position on the Massachusetts Plan. Doesn’t seem helpful to me.”

I expect his campaign sees more and more americans favoring the law and if he remains fervently opposed to ACA he is going to get hammered in the debates. His supporters would likely put up with the flip flop because they want Obama out of office so badly.
