No one really believes Romney chose those items himself do they? Sloppy work, Romney campaign.

To prove to the voters that he's a reg'lar guy.

He probably has never actually bought his own groceries before. Somebody just threw the pepsi in there so he'd have something to load in his SUV.

besides, we all know that grocery shop trip was just for show.

or maybe it was product placement -- perhaps some bigwigs at pepsico gave him a big campaign contribution.

anyway, he probably had his chauffeur chuck the food out the limo on the highway.

As if anyone in that family has ever done their own nails.

It was a staged list put together by his advisers to make him look more normal. I bet he doesn't even know what half of what he purchased is.

But it comes from a directive not to drink hot drinks such as coffee and tea. Modern Mormons take it now to be talking about caffeine, but ultimately the official stance of the church is, "We don't really care; give us more money."

I twisted balloons at a Mormon Church that was having a Halloween party, and the minister asked me if I needed anything to drink, and I auto-replied, "Anything caffeinated and cold is fine." Then we just looked at each other, and we both started laughing, and I said, "Punch will be fine."

What the rationale is, I have no idea. And he did say he was having people over. Of course, that may be it.
