Really repugs? Ohio just found 588 previously uncounted votes in a Columbus suburb.

What a shocker. Not!

COLUMBUS – The tight race between Democrat Danny O'Connor and Republican Troy Balderson just got tighter.

Election officials in Franklin County found 588 previously uncounted votes in a Columbus suburb. The result: O'Connor had a net gain of 190 votes, bringing the race's margin down to 1,564.

"The votes from a portion of one voting location had not been processed into the tabulation system," according to a Franklin County Board of Elections news release.

Balderson declared victory Tuesday night in the closely watched congressional district race in central Ohio. But O'Connor says he's waiting for all votes to be counted.

That includes 3,435 provisional ballots and 5,048 absentee ballots, which will be tabulated by Aug. 24.

How do close to 600 votes just get mis-laid?
"Hey Janet(?) what is that tall pile of votes doing here on the table? Shouldn't we be counting those too?"
An automatic re-count has already been triggered hopefully. The folks who "mis-placed them" knew they'd be under a microscope, and more and more, folks aren't cashing in their lives to support dt and the repub party. I hope.

Be turned into the Board of Elections right after the Polls close. Someone failed to do their job.

In our case it was the responsibility of the Head Judge. Plus workers from the Board who checked in often to make sure everything was right.

I can not understand how 500 votes were misplaced.

My memory of that election was the hanging chads snafu. Point being, that is what I recall because that is what the MSM went on and on about. Rs get away with this crap because the MSM follows the narrative of least resistance instead of exploring all the angles. It just so happens that the narrative of least resistance happens to be the rethug narrative.

...began in the state legislature funding process... Republicans equipped Republican counties with modern, accurate (.1 % error rate), optical scan ballot machines... BUT, refused to fund Democratic counties for upgrades from ancient, inaccurate (10% error rate), punch cards. ANOTHER form of vote suppression... increase accuracy where you want to count ALL the votes, but decrease accuracy where you don't want to count so much.

The Brooks Brothers riots -- a couple of busloads of well dressed white young men who stopped vote-counting too. I remember that they were readily identifiable in photos as GOP operatives, and that most if not all have continued their upward progress in the GOP.

Good times, good timea.

And got hundreds of thousands of Iraqis killed for a Republican partisan lie.

The Bush stolen presidency is a sad sad time for America.

Let’s stop voter suppression. When dems take over, we need a New Voter Rights Act.
And make PR and DC both states, asap.

I had never seen such a dirty election. Trump may have the Bushes beat.

I think that is what gets me about all the praise of the lovely Bush family. My memory is too good, and it goes back to the Father and Iranian hostages.

I had the pleasure of listening to one of them in Boston. Then found out a couple of years ago my neighbors brother was one. They were flown all over the country as props for Reagan.

Given that more people turn out for the GE than the primaries, and it will simply be a rematch, methinks the projected numbers look far better for O'Connor. The GOP will have serious questions over whether Balderson's seat is worth saving.
