...in a country that doesn't have a parliamentary system.

They don't fire on all pistons above the county level. They had 20 years since Nader's 1996 run to organize a liberal/left voting block, and all they had to show for it was Jill Stein. Not even Nader himself, who at least accomplished something worthwhile for the general public. Very long ago, but still done and worthwhile.

hoped it would be a good one to support, but what I remember is almost immediately dysfunctional wingers flooding in and beginning to overset the hopes and intentions of its initial founders. So unfortunate, but hardly an unusual syndrome.

results were not overturned there was a staggering no. of irregularities documented that are still being sifted through to this day.

I suspect that this type of alliance uniting normally squabbling lefty factions could have been seen as threatening to some and steps taken to drive wedges and sow distrust between us all I mean dont we pretty much know that thats been their modus operandi for some time now?

Anyway I prefer to think that the Green Party is guilty mostly of being incredibly naive and not intentionally acting in alliance with russkys/far rw/white nationalists. I could be wrong but thats how it looks to me, having engaged in more arguments with these folks than I care to remember . How many times Ive had to insist "No, both parties are NOT the same!"

Has rendered the GP almost insignificant. Many people who once supported them are now working within the party instead of outside of it. We have a number of Democrats today who hold very similar positions to that of the GP in their earlier years.

It’s the place of near insignificance they have found themselves in that has them lacking any clear direction or competent leadership. They get cheers from their small group of members when attacking Trump but their only path to gain voters is to come after us. It’s getting more difficult for them to do so considering how left some of our members are.
