I think if mittens loses the repubs are going be forced to face facts

You have to nominate someone who is good at campaigning and isn't some numnuts chuckehead loser. One could argue that they have tried this 3 times and only succeeded once due to the Supremes stepping in and W not having much of a record (so he could surprise voters, and boy did he do that!). McCain once was a capable politician, but by 08 he had gone off to la la land. Mittens never has been a capable politician, and has way too much baggage to sneak up on people like he did running for Gov in Mass. Despite all the propaganda, lies and money they can throw at the 'problem', they still have a major issue of too many chuckleheads and not enough politicians. Will 2016 be any different? JEB is the only one of the names mentioned who knows how to win politically, and he's crippled by the Bush name. The rest (Christie, Ryan to al) are not good campaigners and won't be able to sneak up on voters.

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." ... "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors…and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.

too much money involved, and too many variables. If something causes an economic crash, even Rmoney's ineptness won't stop people from voting for him. Even if the reason has nothing to do with anything Obama has done. My biggest worry is that the 1%ers will cause a crash to put him in. You know Goldman Sachs et al can probably do this if they wanted to.

8. If Mitt loses the GOP takes a hard right turn towards more conservative cadidates and policy

They see Mitt as a moderate and hate losing with guys like him and Bob Dole and McCain.
The age of Santorum (and guys like him) will begin if Mitt loses.
They will go full Cromwell and the Roundheads.

there is going to be an epic bloodbath in the Repuke party. My guess is that the baggers and religulously insane will win and they will hold hands as they jump off the cliff together. Unlike Wile E. Coyote, they will not survive the fall.

12. You can't speak of Republicans and facts.

That said, after they lose this November, the Republicans are going to claim they erred in picking a moderate and will go all the way to the right, and probably pick, as the usually do, the person who came in second in the nomination. Which in this case is as far right as you can get. That would be Rick Santorum.

So it's wait until 2024, GOP, before you have another opportunity.

13. Maybe so

If the billionaires are as crazy and stupid as they have been this election, maybe so. But I have to believe they will get sick and tired of tossing money down the election rat hole with nothing but derision to show for it. I also think the crazier the candidates become, the less effective the RW propaganda becomes. For instance, if they hadn't gone the birther route before I think more people would believe Rmoney's lies. But the non-brainwashed population sees nothing but lies, and outrageous ones, so their effect is diluted.

The futher right and the more "crazy" they go each election, the more they isolate themselves. That's why the Republicans are so bent on suppressing the vote in swing states. They can't win on ideas. (Al Sharpton just did a segment earlier tonight addressing this issue.) Super PAC money and suppression of the vote are all they have left to work with. As you say, that Super PAC money may not be coming in future elections as those who are giving millions realize it's just being flushed down the toilet.
