The author has had just a few short interviews that I have seen.
Hes very low key and not very charismatic but he definitely nails Trumps relationship with Russia explaining it from its genesis until now.
Hopefully, Muellers staff has interviewed him and read the book.

(61,695 posts)THE UNTOLD STORY OF DONALD TRUMP AND THE RUSSIAN MAFIA By CRAIG UNGER
The story Unger weaves with those earlier accounts and his original reporting is fresh, illuminating and more alarming than the intelligence channel described in the Steele dossier. The Washington Post
House of Trump, House of Putin offers the first comprehensive investigation into the decades-long relationship among Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and the Russian Mafia that ultimately helped win Trump the White House.
It is a chilling story that begins in the 1970s, when Trump made his first splash in the booming, money-drenched world of New York real estate, and ends with Trumps inauguration as president of the United States. That moment was the culmination of Vladimir Putins long mission to undermine Western democracy, a mission that he and his hand-selected group of oligarchs and Mafia kingpins had ensnared Trump in, starting more than twenty years ago with the massive bailout of a string of sensational Trump hotel and casino failures in Atlantic City. This book confirms the most incredible American paranoias about Russian malevolence.
To most, it will be a hair-raising revelation that the Cold War did not end in 1991that it merely evolved, with Trumps apartments offering the perfect vehicle for billions of dollars to leave the collapsing Soviet Union. In House of Trump, House of Putin, Craig Unger methodically traces the deep-rooted alliance between the highest echelons of American political operatives and the biggest players in the frightening underworld of the Russian Mafia. He traces Donald Trumps sordid ascent from foundering real estate tycoon to leader of the free world. He traces Russias phoenixlike rise from the ashes of the postCold War Soviet Union as well as its ceaseless covert efforts to retaliate against the West and reclaim its status as a global superpower. (32,634 posts)The author Craig Unger has done some awesome investigative work, and of course he benefits from the work of previous investigators also. Luckily for us, a lot of smart people are finally looking into Trump's past history, doing the work that should have been done before the election.
This book is loaded with info on Trump's Russian connections, but I'm just in the first couple chapters. It's definitely worth the read.

(51,590 posts)When he said that Russian money laundering with tRump began in 1984 at tRump Tower with people buying 1,300 condos from him my eyes popped out. Too bad the laws don't require declaration of who the real estate is actually purchased by.

(13,569 posts)We should do what we can to support and encourage this guy. I can't afford the book right now -- have spent my allotment for books -- but I will promote it wherever I can. Maybe we could encourage other appearances.
