Explaining Trump's innocence is the equivalent to 14th Century astronomers trying to explain ...

The planets and Sun orbiting around the Earth ... as soon as Nicolaus Copernicus placed the Sun in the center of our Solar System it all made sense and it was no longer difficult to explain the planets' orbits

As soon as someone accept that Trump is guilty everything falls into place with Trump too and it's no longer difficult to explain

But it is a good point. Which better (i.e. more simply, more directly) explains Trump's public words/deeds: that he's an innocent virtuous selfless patriot or that he's a guilty corrupt narcissistic traitor? A much larger share of Trump's behavior aligns with the latter than with the former.
