Failed tea party rally leaves organization with $748,000 bill

FRANKLIN Two years after the Franklin-based Tea Party Nation organization failed to lure tea party activists to a rally in Las Vegas, a judge is ordering the group to pay the bill for a slew of hotel rooms booked for the event.

Earlier versions of this story incorrectly stated that local attorney Judson Phillips, the founder of The for-profit corporation, was liable for the debt.

Tea Party Nation owes the Venetian Casino Resort more than $748,000, according to the ruling. The hotel alleged that the group reserved 1,637 room nights for a July 2010 event but then canceled the gathering just a few weeks prior.

A claim was filed against Tea Party Nation in July of last year..

The corps don't give a rat's ass about small people and imposed a form of austerity on the industry.

In the days you are talking about nobody has to make money except the casino. Every department's goal was to keep people happy and gambling so the the restaurants rooms banquets showrooms bars were all about keeping guests happy, no matter how much it cost, because the organization overall made profits at the machines and tables.

You can still get a cheap room @ Excalibur or Circus-Circus, Riviera, etc. when there's nothing much going on in town, but if there's an event, prepare to pay as much or more for a room here as you would in LA.

I took it as the event would last a few days. Because yes, that is too much to pay for a room in Las Vegas.

The judgment, handed down last month by the Clark County District Court, represents the unpaid bill of $554,000 plus nearly two years of interest charges for another $194,300.

Maybe now they will want to push for debt forgiveness. Or usury laws?
