I'll never understand why seemingly normal Americans still support #45. We've witnessed over the last three years his erratic, mendacious, and reckless self, and it mystifies me that any sane American could still think of #45 as honest, competent, or having America's best interests at heart.
I'm watching an increasingly demented maniac and his consigliere, Giuliani, lash out at those who do not fall for their avalanches of lies and deceit, thinking that their perfidious excuses and explanations will be believed.

Were in this together.
Its simple: whatever political flag they fly, everyone in the U.S. who has a regular job, pays ordinary bills and taxes, has served time in the military or on a serious sports team, or has a traditional college education has a quality discipline that the unmoored, unfocused Trumpites lack. The complaints about Trump from white veterans in the heartland and black lawyers in Boston are similar: Where is his discipline?
Peter Wehner @Peter_Wehner Mr. Trump was emotionally/psychologically unwell when he became president. His condition is clearly worsening. He's becoming more volatile, erratic and unstable. At some point he's going to blow apart. When he does it'll create a crisis. This won't end well. Pray for our country. 8:12 PM - Aug 18, 2018

Yes, It was just a movie...however this speech....read just the hi-lights and here we are.
"Good morning. Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world, and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind, that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences any more. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps it's fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live, to existand should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice, 'We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on, we're going to survive.' Today we celebrate our independence day!"
President Thomas Whitmore
July 4th, 1996
Yes. Put aside your petty differences. Get the hell out and vote Democratic. Do it or we die, our rights will die, our freedoms will die and our planet will die and we will no longer exist, the GOP guarantees it. This is no time to stage a Revolution and rip it all down, Right now, at this very moment we all need to vote Democratic.

(23,317 posts)Turn out in numbers that so far surpass the margin of error that there can be no doubt that this is OUR country and we're taking it back.
And so it isn't close enough for them to steal.
We can do this.

(81,283 posts)MASSIVELY big numbers make it harder to cheat. Unless of course you have Russian help, in which case some three MILLION more votes don't make any difference...

"As long as it pisses off the liberals". I'm not the first one to point out that it is this attitude, and not any dewy-eyed concern over 'financial distress', that motivates the Trumpazees.
They want to piss off "libbies" and wallow in their hatred.
Vote Blue~

(1,663 posts)That's the whole thing, she. We need to do this or we and everything we love will die. I pray that everyone is hearing this. There's already been too much cast aside and accepted as "collateral damage".
Women's choice is not a distraction. Being able to worship (or not) freely is not a distraction. LGBTQ issues are not distractions. My skin is not a distraction. We are ALL in this together. Vote Democratic in all races.
I love that movie!

(83,773 posts)You are so right. Everything, our very lives are at stake and some just think it's a game. It is not. We will lose everything which includes our future and our future generations.
Even the rich that believe they are immune will not survive our changing climate that has been damaged, perhaps beyond repair. The maps of the fires and extensive heat waves are out of control, polar caps melting.
I loved that scene as well. Sends chills through me...it is not just a speech of the future, it is happening in RL right now.

(83,773 posts)That scene gets me every time, especially now when our very lives are at stake. Put the petty differences aside, get off your ass and vote Democratic.
Change takes time. Those that believe it happens instantaniously are kidding themselves and politicians are trying to fool the rest of us. The gullible will believe it.
Thanks, Tucker.

(42,770 posts)That all trumpites are undisciplined. I am in the heart of red country...and they all are not. Think Beto has it right...he doesn't demean them but tries to find common ground. And try to appeal to basic values in a simple way. (Since we are not dealing with intelligentia here
I do think you should find a way to kindly show contrast. Sherrod Brown was just on and showed his ad. It was good but he never added any contrast. Yes, we are for decent wages. Nothing wrong with throwing in that Republicans always vote against raising minimum wage.
