and started yelling at Eugene Robinson about Chris Christie, then incoherently defending Christie's wife (who was attacking her?) to no one in particular.
Morning Joe was a hot mess today. Usually it's just Joe yelling and waving his arms. But today Mika was trying to rip faces off, too.
I wonder if, like Joe, she needs some sedation. If they don't, the two of them aren't gonna make it through this election. I realize they're unhappy about Romney's bad numbers and their little game of "Let's pretend this is a close election!" has come to a screeching end at long last. But these two were completely out of control today.
Harold Ford, Jr. couldn't get a sentence out without Joe interrupting. Ed Rendell and Donny Deutsch sat there in silence, probably wishing they could dive under the table for cover.
It was one of the most bizarre mornings on that show that I have ever seen...

I shoulda known it wouldn't go well when she looked at Joe and said "I'm going to have to hit you..." but I thought she was just being cute. It got ugly fast from then on.
Great theater, tho! If you missed it, you can see it on the Morning Joe page at msnbc.com

(31,464 posts)Obviously friends with Mrs. Christie. The guys made a few New Jersey jokes (doesn't everybody?), and she went off. Not just defending New Jersey, but drew Mrs. Christie into it, although on one had said anything about her. She is apparently a goddess. And either very, very strong, or she likes it on top. Just sayin'.
But I think Mika is too close to Christie to be objective. In fact, it sounded like the whole panel this morning was pitching for either Christie or Ryan to take the nomination from Rmoney. The GOP clearly hates him if even that table full of shills is calling for someone else.
It was a mess of a show. Everyone yelling at each other, talking over each other -- I mean, even more than usual. Unfortunately, switching to CNN doesn't help, because Soledad is on vacation. The stand-ins are just as insipid as ever, and it felt like the old CNN, before they gave O'Brien some free reign to make the morning show more watchable.

My former BF who was the RWer gained much weight while we were dating, so I know how it works. Though IMHO it doesn't work very well once the man reaches a certain amount of belly fat. The important structure simply disappears into the fat.

(3,322 posts)I turned it off yesterday b/c Mika was acting like an idiot about the Obama PAC commercial. Today I turned it on to see Scarborough ripping Harold Ford to bits for having the temerity for sticking up for Obama's experience. Harold "Closet GOPer" Ford". You can't find a more compliant Dem-basher and Joe was getting his panties in a wad.
If Joe and Mika can't tolerate any opinion other than their own why do they have guests? It did my heart good when Mika's Dad knee-capped Joe one day and called him a clown or something like it.
I turned it off today less than 5 minutes after I turned it on. Just like yesterday. These folks need to get a grip.

(4,220 posts)"Have you ever met his wife" she shouted to Eugene Robinson when he had the audacity to say the Large One might not translate so great nationally. She clearly is in love with the guy and wishes she was his wife... She claimed that Chrispy would have made short work of "Chicago" for the dead wife ad that "Chicago" did not put out and that has not been shown anywhere except on the "news" shows...
Joey Scar was ranting and raving over how Eddie Munster is way way more qualified to to be President than Barack Obama, even now!!! Because he, little Eddie that is, has been in Washington since the middle '90's and "knows how Washington works"... Schmoe was killing me (pun intended) with his twisted logic and when Harold Ford, that rabid partisan Democrat, said weakly that little Eddie might not be seen as "ready to be President, the king of the beady eyed circle jerks went off on him...
Oh, and they mentioned the new polls showing our President in the lead essentially in passing, what a bunch of dopes. The DVR is great because I can basically find out what the enemy is saying each day in a very short period of time and keep from throwing something at my TeeVee machine.

(5,842 posts)Mika was totally in the tank for Palin in 2008 until Palin proved to be a major liabillity to the McCain campaign.
As it is, the Republicans already have an arrogant jackass on the top of the ticket and it's hurting them in the polls. What could make them think doubling down on that personality style is a winning strategy.

but I did notice that Mika is sort of a decoration there and isn't really allowed to speak much and when she does, he never looks at her.
That's a telling sign of some sort, when someone is speaking and you can't look at them. He looks at all the guys on his panel when they talk. So I mentioned this in a reply to a Joe post a while back and someone said:
sounds like they are having an affair and something has gone wrong - To that effect.
Maybe, eh?
hope she rips his stupid q-tip head off - what a massive jerkoff

(37,648 posts)I noticed she was more vocal than usual, but I didn't hear any tirade or anything like that. I heard the part about Christy, and I heard her comments about Mrs. Christy.
She and Eugene more or less agree on just about everything, and I didn't see much difference this morning.
I HAVE noticed that the show is more and more becoming a Republican talking point show. When he does have Democrats on, they are usually blue dogs or moderates, at most. Every now and then he'll have Dean on, and that's about it.

(3,220 posts)Both of them are terrible, annoying hosts - especially Joe Scarborough. He's one of those pompous, fake, plastic-y hosts with the permanent, frozen smile, combined with that wind-bag Republican personality. Every time he talks I want to get out a barf-bag.
It's also one of those morning shows. Everything on there, including this, is guaranteed to be hammed up, if not completely scripted.
