because the old record had been East German, and there was obviously an unspoken feeling it had been drug-assisted in some way but not proven.

..the four that ran today were not the four that ran the other day, there were two different team members rotated in...don't you think that the women that got them INTO the final deserve medals as well??? All I know is that I would be HIGHLY pissed off I helped the team get into the finals, and someone else ran the finals and got all the glory...
Thoughts?

Only the final four members stand on the podium, though.
