Having grown up in the south, I knew exactly what he meant by "monkey up"...he may as well have said "n-bomb rig" because it shares the same meaning! It's a derogatory slam and DeSantis knew very well the meaning because he prefaced the remark by praising how "well spoken" Gillum is. The implication is that Gillum is trying to hoodwink people and it's a not so subtle dog whistle.

The Monkey it up was bad. The Articulate comment even worse.

When I went to bed Tuesday night I assumed the governorship was lost since I thought only Graham could win. Now I think we can win this.

DeSantos is not even trying to act moderate while Andrew is sounding like a statesman. I know influential republicans who did not support Trump but did not vote for Hillary. They would have voted for Putnam who has developed a moderate image despite his real beliefs. They will not vote for DeSantos and these racist comments will not help. Unless he thinks he needs to go full supremacy to get his side to the polls, I can’t see this helping him. It certainly will not win new voters for him.

I think we should shove he face next to Trump's so hard. Make them twins for the next two months. I'm sure he wants to move away from the penis head right now but he used him to get the nomination he needs to be linked with every bad thing the orange headed monster has ever done.
