I thought with the amount of people envolved it would have made national headlines.

(14,961 posts)Went. Huge meth/heroin issues there, (I love Ohio, my husband's family are from Oh, as was my mother's) I just know many people from there that have thrown away bright futures because of addiction to these drugs.

(883 posts)The tri-state area was used as test market for oxycodone. The fact that drugs and drug fronts are the source of income for most families.

(4,517 posts)I lived there in the late 70's for only a few months. It felt like one giant insane asylum. I had a cashier at a liquor store ask me if I needed any Quaaludes LOL

(34,074 posts)In side a jail, and somehow the people who responded with assistance (inmates and guards) were also impacted merely by being around patient zero.
(I thought I heard it on an NPR news report - but since I'm in Ohio, it could have been local)
