A Paid Leave Bill being proposed by Sen. Marco Rubio(R-Fl), robs Social Security 3% to 10% annually or $10 Billion , causing many to have to repay those funds many times over if they use them. This comes at a great cost to Social Security.
Democrats need to fight this. Rescind part of the $1.5 Trillion Tax cut to pay for this, not rob Seniors and future Seniors of the benefits they have paid into all their lives and will need as they retire.

Voters in Florida and all over the United States, fight Marco Rubio about this. Florida has MILLIONS of Seniors . He needs to hear from you that you OPPOSE this robbing of your Social Security.

(32,610 posts)You borrow from yourself when you are young and reduce your retirement benefits.
Employers should be providing this benefit, not SS.

(11,885 posts)He's already robbed millions of their ACA , and from causing the premiums to skyrocket before the 2016 election , and now they want all health care destroyed including Medicaid, Medicare, and completely destroy Social Security now too. How can anyone vote for them now. They use propaganda to con people with, only to rob them later on.

(14,858 posts)who need to take leave to care of their new babies? That's right. Zero. This proposal doesn't rob any current Seniors of their Social Security. This proposal fucks over young people only.

(21,946 posts)the older generation paid for their parents social security.
The young getting the paid leave ARE taking it out of their parent's social security, not their own.

(14,858 posts)if this ever becomes law. All these Republican proposals to gut Social Security always make certain of that. The majority of Seniors vote Republican, and Rubio et al. won't do anything that's likely to change that state of affairs.

(38,958 posts)this was suggested by him a long time ago. I consider this concept beyond stupid and Marco to be the equivalent of the south end of a north bound horse, but this is pretty old news.
