Democrats Look Solid In Pennsylvania

August 30, 2018 at 8:24 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

A new Franklin & Marshall poll in Pennsylvania finds Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) leading challenger Lou Barletta (R), 47% to 34%.

In the governor’s race, Gov. Tom Wolf (D) leads Scott Wagner (R), 52% to 35%.

Democrats also lead Republicans by nine points in the generic ballot, 48% to 39%.

Key finding: “Nearly half (54%) of the state’s registered voters say they are ‘very interested’ in the 2018 elections. Voter interest is related to both political party and political ideology. At the moment, more Democrats (60%) than Republicans (53%) or independents (33%) say they are ‘very interested.’ More self-described liberals (62%) than conservatives (53%) or moderates (51%) say they are ‘very interested.'”

What happens in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, and even Florida, will be MAJOR for going forward for Democrats in 2020.

Democrats who prevail at the Federal and State levels, will pave the way for 2020 for who happens to be the Democratic Party nominee for President and Congress.

Who did this are, although there’s a LOT of rednecks here. As the famous saying goes, PA is 2 states. Wolf and Casey are very well-liked even among the “I don’t want that c*nt in the White House” (to quote one of DH’s co-workers) crowd. Plus there’s a lot of crap coming out about Wagner, the Repug candidate for Gov. He won’t release his tax return (sound familiar?). He owns a large trash company and he “doesn’t want his employees to know what he earns because then they’ll want to unionize.” That’s going to go over well with the average working person.
