Yes, I know I can google him, which I am doing, but I'd like DUers perspectives also. Thank you.

(21,642 posts)Ryan comes across as the sort of guy who has bodies in his basement.

(5,810 posts)Kept staring at him and wondering who he reminds me of. Thanks for mentioning
Eddie Munster. Perfect description! Only problem is none of us will
be laughing if he and Mittens take the election in November. Not one chuckle.
Our worst nightmare come true.

(904 posts)...that some of the biggest psychopaths that have ever lived, if you met them one-on-one and did not know who they were beforehand, would come across as very charming, personable people. I'm not necessarily saying that Paul Ryan is a psychopath, even considering that his budget proposal is psychopathic in its effect on the elderly (and everybody else).

(39,319 posts)Then you should know that Ryan's plan says you'll essentially die on Medicare if you get anything costly, like cancer or heart disease.
Well unless you're a multi-millionaire because you will be paying for it yourself

(21,642 posts)opinion of himself. Has been bruited as a rising star of the R's. As near as I can figure, his sole qualification for that position would be his utter lack of a moral compass.

(904 posts)...to endear himself to MSM. He'll go on a major charm offensive on the networks and hope that the charm rubs off on Mittens.
Let's see how long that lasts, considering the home runs Obama has been hitting off of the MittWitt lately.

(2,657 posts)Romney is Romney Hood--stealing from the poor to give to the Rich Paul Ryan is Little John to Romney's Robin Hood.
He perverts the Roman Catholic doctrine to justify gutting any and all programs that could help the poor and middle class.
My fear is that IF Romney and Ryan get into the White House we would see America become a modern day Feudal system in which Corporations own EVERYTHING and we middle/working poor classes would be serfs. No welfare help, no medicare or medicaid, Roe V Wade overturn.
Maybe I'm being dramatic but it would be worse than Cheney/Bush

(904 posts)...because he's a flaming hypocrite - and I would submit, not really a Catholic, but an objectivist. He may have publicly renounced Ayn Rand and Objectivism (or not, depending on your interpretation), but the stripes are still there on that cat. They don't, and won't, change.

A group of Catholic Sisters drove their presidential campaign-style bus to the Wisconsin office of House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R) on Wednesday to decry proposed budget cuts they say will hurt struggling families.
The nuns are part of the National Catholic Social Justice Lobby (NETWORK), which recently came under criticism from the Catholic hierarchy for spending too much time working for social justice instead of fighting social issues like abortion.
When we got named, there was like an explosion of support, Simone Campbell told Al Jazeera English. So when we had all of this opportunity, all of this exposure, all of this attention nuns arent used to having a lot of attention on themselves so, it was like, oh my gosh, we need to use this for the sake of people at the margin.
The nuns are not the only Catholic group to have criticized Ryans budget. Referencing Matthew 25, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have claimed that budget cuts in Ryans budget plan are unjustified and wrong. But Ryan has insisted that his budget plan is consistent with his Catholic faith, claiming he was trying to prevent big government from crowd[ing] out civic society.
How fortunate are we that Romney is completely illiterate about the nuances of the Catholic Church.
He probably thinks that appointing a Catholic will help him with Catholics.
