To me, if Trump told the truth (extremely unlikely) to Mueller and his people, no worries on perjury. Other worries, yes lol
Alan Dershowitz says this is real for Trump. Is he wrong ? Not a lawyer, so that's why I'm asking.

(52,309 posts)A perjury trap is when a prosecutor gets someone to testify under oath for the sole purpose of hoping to find a perjury charge.
It happens if the prosecutor doesn't have a real underlying charge, or an underlying charge that likely can't be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
It has everything to do with the strength or weakness of the prosecutor's case and the prosecutor's motives and nothing to do with the witness's propensity for lying.
Donnie's penchant for lying has a lot to do with whether or not he would commit perjury, or whether or not he would *fall into* a perjury trap *if* it was in fact a perjury trap.
But it has nothing to do with whether or not *is* a perjury trap.
Yet another example of ghouliani's incompetence is that he's not making this clear. He should claiming it's a perjury trap because there's no real case against Donnie (according to them, anyway), but instead he makes us think it's because Donnie surely would lie.

(49,033 posts)Liars have more than one story to juggle: reality and their lie.
Compulsive liars have several lies to try to keep straight, so they lose track of the truth.
Trump has so many he has lost track of reality.
