Donald Trump says he has endured immeasurable harm to his reputation by taking office and deserves HUGE DAMAGES!Donald Trump filed a lawsuit on today against the U.S. government for pain and suffering that he says has been inflicted upon him by becoming president. I enjoyed a fine reputation before taking this thankless job, said Mr. Trump on Sunday in an interview conducted at his Florida retreat. All the big stars and important people wanted to hang here at Mar-a-Lago. Now, theyve turned on me, because Im for America and theyre socialists.
President Trump said that he is suing the U.S. government for $4 billion, which is both for the emotional and physical toll this job has taken on me, as well as for the lost income. With Mueller staring over my shoulder, I can no longer make any money through illegal real estate deals and offshore shenanigans. And my Russian collusion payments are totally out the window right now. That was steady income and now its gone. I might even have to pay taxes this year, which is an obvious hardship. Mr. Trump is well known for taking legal action against anyone for almost anything, but a president suing his own government for compensation because the job is hard is unprecedented.
I have never heard of a president basically suing his own administration for damages, said White House historian and MSNBC commentator, Michael Beschloss. A four billion dollar payout to a sitting president would be a financial blow to his government and certainly bankrupt his credibility. But I suppose he factored in that he has little or no credibility presently before filing the suit.
Speaking for the Republican majority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell called the presidents lawsuit outrageous and without merit, but hinted that his colleagues might vote to authorize the damage payment, as thanks to President Trump for pushing through a generous tax cut that no one thought stood a chance in hell of passing.

OP
Yeah, it sounds exactly like something he would do - except he would ask for more.

and the part about McConnell sounds very real.

It would not surprise me one bit if he tried to do something like this.
