Oklahoma Loves Ryan

And the right wing rag known as The Daily Oklahoman is just gushing. If you want to puke, read the comments on their story at NewsOK.com.

It never ceases to amaze me how the vast majority of people in this state revere the fuckers that are sticking this Koch up their ass.

While there are a few comments from the left, vast majority either love Ryan or reveal their blind hatred of President Obama.

in part thanks to the CCC (my dad worked in it) and a lot of government assitance, If I am not mistaken they also got a lot of the rural electrification money.

Yep, they owe a ton to FDR

The dissonance is incredible. I dont know if any state bought into the "Reagan Revolution" any more completely than Oklahoma. Rush Limpballs can be heard on multiple stations from anywhere in the state every afternoon. Almost every single ballot initiative that calls for any kind of tax increase is soundly defeated. The most liberal media in the state is basically mainstream right wing.

Yes, there are a lot of reasonable, left-leaning people in Oklahoma... Unfortunately that's only about 30% of the voting public.

There are two big drivers IMO.... One, the influence of fundamentalist churches, particularly the Baptists; and two, make no mistake there is an undercurrent of racism in he blind hatred of the President.
