In fact, it's the ugliest P/VP ticket of my lifetime.

We've got Weasel Romney who believes in nothing but that he somehow deserves to be the most powerful man on earth as well as one of the richest. This is truly a man with a compass that points only to him; who adopts policies only if they benefit him politically and who lies with the greatest of ease.

We've got Paul Ayn Ryan who I think really is a true believer, a zealot who adheres to a "survival of the fittest" philosophy and has no compunction about ruthlessly destroying millions of people. (not that weasel has any compunction about that either).

Neither of these men have a conscience. They both have hatred and contempt for the poor, the disabled and the working class.

I do think President Obama will likely win, but that this ticket should even be put up reflects some very scary stuff about this country.

I don't just want Obama to win, I want the hateful ideology of Ryan and the hollow man rMoney, discredited for all time.

When they throw this particular shit at the wall, will it stick? Or rather, how well will it stick? How much will stick? Some of it will, and that's valuable information for Rove et al to have, to see how far they can push the envelope, even if they don't win this time around. They've pushed it very aggressively so far and they've done amazingly well with that strategy, I bet they're even surprised themselves at how well it's worked (and keeps on working.) So they push harder the next time.

One difference this time is that the Obama team is prepared and willing to get down and dirty too. Going on the offense instead of just defending when the Repubs attack. I was pretty impressed with today's quick response.

The R team might be thinking they can change course if Romney sinks like a stone in the polling, that they can manufacture some excuse or scandal if they need to pull Ryan out. However, by announcing Ryan they've given away their evil plan, the same one that Romney has been so careful up to this point not to disclose the details of (consciously, at least - he oozes it at a subconscious level.)

That whole entitled rich kid, I'm-better-than-you-common-people meme that Romney's been trying so hard to shake - it's carved in stone now. (All the Rs don't help. Rotten by association. Richie Rich, Romney/Ryan, Rolls Royce, Rand, Republican, Reagan...) There's no resetting the Etch-A-Sketch now, not this close to the election. But yeah, the plutocracy wins either way, it's just a matter of how much of their wish list they're gonna get this round. I'd love to see us push back the other way, though. Like the French are with their proposed 75% tax rate for the top income bracket.

In any rational country Romney wouldn't poll above the teens on his best day. Add Ryan and that number should drop to the single digits. But America has more than its fair share of extremists and crazies...

But I also think that some of them are not well educated, but rather well "indoctrinated" with views that encourage them to think of themselves as being victimized by Obama and his administration. They really do believe a lot of the crap that is put out there by the flakes....the Birther crap, he's a socialist, born in Kenya, etc. They hate Obama with a hatred that is quite visceral and they are vocal about it. I also have relatives that fall in this category so I have personal experience with people who think this way.

One area where I see potential problems getting through to these people is that they are being reinforced with their mean spirited, hateful attitudes toward the poor and needy through their churches. I have seen that in my daughter-in-law and son. They very much resent help from the government for those that they do not believe "deserve" it. Never mind that they got help from us when they were younger and struggling and without our help would have been forced to rely on Food Stamps and other assistance from time to time. My DIL quotes the Bible and tells me that the church is supposed to take care of the needy and she even agrees with me that the churches are not doing enough. I told her it is a simple problem of math....there is too much need for the religious institutions to handle the problem without any government help. I still stand by my assertion that they have missed the essential teachings of their Savior to Love thy neighbor as thyself. Do Unto Others as You'd Have Done Unto you. Take care of the sick, the hungry and the needy. Missed that completely. It has been perverted and twisted like so many other things that come from the Bible. One day my DIL actually put on FB, "He who is able and does not work, shall not eat." A quote from the Bible.

One other observation.....listening to Romney after he spoke today. He implied that they are going to run a clean campaign and won't be resorting to "dirty tactics". I think he is going to use this to try to club Obama when they return to the issue of Romney's tax issues and other things he refuses to talk about. They are going to categorize that as dirty politics and try to make people think bad about Obama/Biden for bringing it up. Maybe it won't work since so many people REALLY DO want to know about his tax records, his Bain record and his humongous IRA. Now they also have all of Ryan's baggage to explain, too. As for me having "it right..." I've never hoped so much as now
that I have it totally wrong; and that Obama will be re-elected,

I think Obama actually won by a huger margin, that he was still

The fact that these two people made it to the top of the ticket in a General Election does point that there is something rotten in these United States.

However Obama and Biden are decent, sensible, moderate individuals. The Romney/Ryan ticket may be great for the Democrats in the short term, but sadly this ticket just moves America further to the right. This ticket makes Ronald Reagan look like a left wing Republican, and it makes Eisenhower look like an extreme Liberal.

I need America to prove me wrong. I need America to show that it has a conscience, and doesn't vote for a particular person just because they belong to "their party". Ideally I'd like a Mondale-style defeat of Romney - actually I'd like Romney to get less than 13 Electoral College votes. I somehow think it isn't going to happen but with Paul Ryan on board that other bus ... Democrats can turn the heat up on the simple fact: Romney & Ryans' plan removes the Social Safety Net and increases taxes on those who can ill afford it.

Reagan's election set America and the world back a generation. But even Reagan disguised the agenda with softer language and an image of a caring old grandpa type.
