From the short ajc.com article..."police will fire blanks to expose everyone to the sound of gunfire in the building. The blanks will not be fired at anyone."
🤦🤦🤦🤦
A barrel of whoop ass is being opened here.

(16,254 posts)Who staged this fiasco? You have 4 law enforcement officers standing next to a wall in full view of the shooter, who apparently is "suicide by law enforcement" or whatever they call it since he's walking in a wide open space just waiting for that fatal bullet.
In the meantime, you have a bunch of elementary children being confronted with a vivid example of what they might (or, might not) see in their near future. Granted some children will find it exciting, but many will be building nightmare scenes.
Did this group consult counselors or local physicians/emergency personnel for their opinions? Will the teachers now be armed and ready?
As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother...as well as the mother and grandmother of elementary teachers, I think this idea stinks.
What have we done to this country?

(16,254 posts)It isn't just the nightmares, it is accepting that these school shootings are ongoing and learn to live with it.
I resist learning to live with it.
I will also resist the NRA until I see them take responsibility for the state of our country when it comes to guns that shouldn't be on the street. (Hunters and target shooters, don't scream at me, you know what I'm referring to.) Maybe this Russian investigation will show us where all their money is coming from and the organization can be disbanded.
Children's lives are more precious than anything the NRA can provide to their members.
