You know who Ryan reminds me of...

While Romney is most likely a Cylon, a Replicant, a visitor from V, an android or an Agent from The Matrix...

Paul Ryan is Carter Burke from Aliens.

You know, Burke, I don't know which species is worse. You don't see them fucking each other over for a goddamn percentage.

But seriously, ask yourself. Would Paul Ryan get a facehugger to implant you just so he can rake in big bucks?

/me wanders away singing "Hello my baby, hello my darling, hello my ragtime gaaaal..."

But the sleazy corporate scumbag Burke from Aliens, that casually ordered people to their deaths on LV-426, then tried to have Ripley and Newt implanted by facehuggers so he could smuggle their embryos through quarantine to the company's bioweapons division?

That's sooooooo Paul Ryan.

I've never seen Aliens. My dad totally ruined all SciFi for me when I was a little kid. He made me watch War of the Worlds when I was about 5, and told me it was real.

I didn't know how to take a joke at 5. Imagine that.

War of the Worlds was very scary even for someone who knew it was fiction. I'm a true science fiction fan but when I read the book it scared me and I was a teenager.

Aliens is very scary too. Even to adult science fiction fans. But to those of us who weren't traumatized as children it's a great movie because it still scares us.

I'm really sorry that you had to go through that. Your dad robbed you of something important in my opinion.

I was eight when I saw that one, so a little older... But there was the tree... and then the poor guy who hallucinated ripping his own face off.

And then there was that FUCKING CLOWN!!!

Yeah, try showing that movie to a little kid...

I absolutely refused. The movie he wanted to see most was 'Jaws' but I knew he was too young. I finally let him watch it a few years after it came out but I watched it with him and I made sure he knew it was not real. Then after he watched it the first time I showed him how the actors were still alive and making other movies and I had him watch it another times knowing that it was all make believe.

He's an avid science fiction fan now. He's 41 years old so I know he didn't suffer any traumatic effect.

I think he just put in all the things that scared the crap out of him when he was a kid. All our worst fears of what's under the bed and in the closet and the clown really was scary.

Alien was essentially a horror movie that takes place in a spaceship. People groping through dark corridors while an H. R. Geiger monster with lots of teeth and a bad attitude stalks and kills them one-by-one.

Aliens, the sequel, does have its horror elements, but it's more of an action movie - Sigorney Weaver comes back and kicks ass!

a Night to Remember (about the Titanic) and told me most ships sink..I could go on.

And he wonders why I'm neurotic!!! The only movies I liked as a kid were vampire movies. I don't know why, but it didn't bother me if THOSE were real.
I detest the horror genre, and movies with gore (unless they're historical).
Thanks, Dad. He was not abusive in any way, but he does have a twisted sense of humor.

and a lot of people are realizing who has been fucking them over for a percentage - even the people that vote for types like him. Republicans are who want to raise their taxes, they just say it pretty by denying it, while raising fees on every other thing in the universe to the point where it is worse than raising taxes.

Think airline fees. Think Massachusetts under Romney.
