(Purpose - Drive a wedge between Romney and Ryan positions, make Romney either endorse or reject Ryan positions that are popular with Tea Partiers and unpopular with Moderates and Independents)

Ad portrays an unpopular Ryan position that Romney has already supported or not yet rejected, and portrays what it would be like if Romney/Ryan win the White House.

Voice over: "IF Romney and Ryan win in November ...."

(Medicare recipient receives in the mail a voucher for a small amount of $ to be used to obtain private medical insurance to pay all of her medical expenses, along with a letter she reads out loud that says your traditional medicare card is no longer valid for use in obtaining medical care. Confused and angry she says "What is this? I want my Medicare? All I want is my Medicare back ....&quot

Voice over: "... you have a right to know how a Romney Presidency will affect you!"

Pan out video -- Worried Medicare recipient sits grasping the letter, reading and re-reading the letter (Text on screen/voice over: "...you have a right to know."

This type of ad works well with any number of issues that Ryan has proposed.

Privatizing social security would another good one to utilize this approach.

2. "Fred and Ethel" ads can get the public's attention ....

Show people what the consequences of their vote will look like and people will remember when they enter the voting booth.

"Saying something" can be more easily tuned out than "Showing something."

3. Obama needs to enhance the wedge between tea partiers and moderates/independents

.... with only weeks to go before the Repub Convention.

Romney has to keep them all under the same tent to win, and they despise each other.
