He does not appear to be well read regarding anything unless he can make a buck off of it.

I am sure he will rely on others to tell him what he thinks on foreign policy issues.

However... in a debate, this is going to be a bear of a topic for Romney and Ryan, unless they get the questions in advance, and show up with canned answers. In that case, any variation or followup should trip them up.

Imagine how little Romney knows about the MiddleEast and its past history.

emerging from Olympics-induced bleariness -

don't we have an astonishingly irresponsible pick by the Republicans, once again?

The idea of Mitt representing our interests on the world stage is bad enough. He seems to have no foreign policy experience outside of antagonizing other nations.

But the idea of Paul Ryan, should anything happen to the Mittster, like, say, he overdoses on hairspray - the idea of Paul Ryan being our representative to the world???

Am I missing something or is a guy like Ryan an embarrassment of the likes that this Great Nation actually can't afford and shouldn't ever have to suffer?

I think President Paul Ryan would make us an even bigger laughingstock than Chimpy did. At least with Chimpy, there was reason to be afraid of him, in his mindless, just might bomb you sort of chimpiness. President Paul Ryan is so far from ready for primetime - I really believe presenting him to the world as our President would suggest we are a second-rate country.

National pride should cause people to refuse to vote for that ticket, no?

I remember years ago one of my republican friends basically made the argument that if you are a republican, you are automatically an expert in foreign policy.

John "Les R Us" Bolton, and so on.

And, in a pinch, there's always arch-war criminal Henry Kissinger and Mr. "Official 9-11 Cover Story" Philip Zelikow.

Ryan so much? Because he's as naive as a 40 year old virgin and Cheney could order him around like a Bronx bully.
