fine.
What do you say to someone with that kind of mentality.
One was justifying it by saying, "Normal American boys do do things like this"
With all these republican women, they were blaming it on the victim
There is something really f**ked about some women in this country. What it tells me is that these women would have no problem if this was done to their daughters.
As I said these were republican women, but it is unbelievable to me that any woman would have that mindset

She is an idiot. TENS OF MILLIONS of teenage boys never did any such thing.

The man grew up in a privileged neighborhood, college, etc. He was a professional, and was hellbent on improving his social status at every opportunity. Very Republican.

(12,673 posts)And these sort of women will do anything to protect their precious princes and the family name. So - their opinion is that any girl their son had sex with was consensual, ill advised or not. All those "lying sluts" who entrapped their darling boys were just after the family status or money, and deserve all the scorn and ridicule they're going to get if they try to pin anything on the poor dear.
Those low girls should just keep their mouths shut and feel lucky a boy paid attention to them...
Doesn't matter if the girl came from a good family or not. "Like all good girls, you shouldn't have acted like such a slut and gone to that frat party...make them put a ring on that finger before you take a drink and drop your panties."
On edit. I went to University feeder public school with a couple "high class" kids whose parents didn't want to send them to the local private academies - which were all Christian-based.
This was the attitude their parents had - the little princes could do no wrong and were left to their own devices, and the little princesses were petted and pampered - and were watched like hawks whenever they interacted with us plebes. Most of those kids were pretty f***ed up.

(11,949 posts)I am one. Or was one. No young boy now! White southern and male in my 50s.
When I was in college in the mid 80s we caught a guy working hard to undress a passed out young girl in a fraternity room. We put a beat down on him like none I have ever seen and not participated in since. Not saying we should have done so. But we were all somewhat drunk young boys. And we knew right from wrong. Had we called campus police nothing would have happened. And hell, I was politically conservative then!
But we were not from rich families and our mothers worked and we were taught to respect women.
It pisses me off to no end when people say this is what boys do. Bullshit. It is what predators do.

|I wish the media would stop putting these asshats on tv. Last time I checked attempted rape and assault are crimes. First they say they are sure he didn't do this and then they downplay it and justify it saying various things like maybe he just touched her etc and what teenage boy didn't do this, and people can redeem themselves etc wtf? I would say the majority dont do anything like this or rape etc. One of my fathers friends was raped in highschool by similar athletic types like these vomitous creeps, fortunately they have not been nominated for a sc or high positions anywhere. If this is really the belief patterns of these women and others you can see why some teenage boys may feel it is ok I guess. In my mind though no one commits an assault like this unless the are seriosly disturbed which he and his friend obvioulsy are. I kind of feel like someone paid them to say this.

(9,525 posts)one of the women has been sexually abused as a child, and basically shrugged it off, saying something to the effect of, "That's just what men do." That's what she'd been taught. SHe changed her view after being in the group for awhile, but that's what she thought when she first got there.
I don't know if it was one of their daughters how they would feel.

(9,350 posts)That kind of talk is crazy, but not surprising. I do not know whether these women are from the South, but this type of language is standard operating procedure in many places in this country especially, the South. I have never heard that type of behavior described as normal behavior for an American boy, but I have heard many people blame the women who were attacked and not the men who attacked them. People claimed the women should not have been drunk, they should not have been in a room alone with men, or they should not have dressed the way they were dressed.
I think these women would feel different if it happens to their daughters. I think these women are under the impression that it could never happen to their daughters because their daughters were raised right. Their daughters would never do what the girls who get raped do, which causes them to get raped. That may be another reason people who get raped and assaulted do not report their rapes and sexual assaults when they happen. Assault victims may be afraid to tell their family that they had done the things their families thought caused people to get raped and assaulted.
