Was "anonymous" op-ed foundation for the NYT piece? (Original Post)

OP
chillfactor
(7,580 posts)1. I have lost ALL RESPECT for the three NYT reporters....
who broke this piece of unmerited piece of shit against Mr. Rosenstein. NONE of their "sources" were IN the room when those words were spoken. I am grateful to WaPo and NBC for being able to use diapers to clean up after the NYT.

on NYT either was paid, or blackmailed, imo.

(22,990 posts)3. Nah, the op-ed is believable
and still makes sense as a group of republicans trying to save their brand without actually doing anything worth a crap.

(13,571 posts)6. I believe and have said that the op-ed was ratfu&*kery, Rove style.
Straight from his playbook.
Today's fuss appears to be similar, although clumsy enough that tens of thousands of tweets are blasting the reporters involved.
The objective: to seize the top news headline of the day, and it will drive anything else below the figurative fold.

Stone desperation.
