When Gramps rolled out Caribou Snooki 4 years ago it was during the week right before the convention and it was a big story. The announcement caught the corporate media off guard and it really was a bold move at the outset. This one kinda slipped out on a Friday night when most of the real world was on vacation, watching the Olympics or enjoying one of the last weekends of summer. Add to that the fact few political junkies were surprised by the pick and he has low name recognition among many voters. He's a "work in progress" with less than 100 days. Bad timing and an even worse pick...even the response in wingnutland is forced enthusiasm.
