Trump, the 25th Amendment, . . . . . and my father

It became obvious that my father was not the competent man he had been for a couple of years, and here he was at 92.

He hadn't paid his bills (water, electric, heat, credit cards) for about six months. Service was threatened to be turned off. He wouldn't let me or my sister write the checks for his signature.

He was getting in regular car accidents. THAT he did pay because it was the only way to keep the other drivers from calling the police and their insurance agents. And to the point: he wouldn't risk losing his drivers license.

He wasn't eating a healthy diet, mostly carbs like breads and donuts.

He screamed in indignation at me when I came over to wash dishes, glasses, pots left on the countertops. (He wanted his housekeeper to do it although she only came once a week.)

(I'm getting to the point.)

Dad wasn't incapacitated. He had very bad judgment at this stage of his life. My sister and I discussed having a competency hearing that would allow either or both of us to take over his affairs or a neutral third party. Trouble was you need two physicians to sign off that someone is a danger to himself and/or others. Dad could talk a good game. He had our neighbors snowed. (One really gauled me by repeating "Your Dad really knows what he's doing".)

Not only did we risk not accomplishing a less-than-sure-thing, but he could go and leave us out of his Will. (As to the latter, it didn't matter as he had already disinherited us.)

Now to Trump and the 25th Amendment. Like Dad, he has a good game going. He knows how to talk and bullshit effectively when it's needed. (All the time isn't required.) Try to get a good number of his Cabinet to get on board. How about any Republican in Congress? See where I'm going?

To paraphrase Trump, he could shoot a journalist during a press conference broadcast, and not a single Republican would vote for removal by the 25th Amendment.

Sounds exactly like my life taking care of my elderly parents for the last five years.
I too, see this level of mental disability in tRump. The Republicans have all of this on their heads. They know he is unfit, but as long as he can hold a pen...he stays. THIS SHOULD BE AN INDELLIBLE STAIN ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

and I see some similarities in Trump. I believe he has both dementia and narcissistic personality disorder.
